Adam and his oddities

Sooooooooooooo Adam and his bff/coworker came to Omaha from Wichita years ago when their At&T plant closed down there.  Here the company had changed names many times over but they still had jobs and bought a house together.  Both girlfriendless and both very into their looks by tanning and gym visits.  Yet my gaydar never went off and here Adam was wooing me.  I liked him and we had a nice dinner but ultimately he was shorter than what I was looking for.  We remained friends via Instant Messenger but only went out the one time and a lil hug and kiss on the cheek was the extent of it.  At our dinner date I saw some folks I had not in years and yikes had the daughter put on weight!!!

I decided to dive right into my emails from single men.  I swear I have a steel trap memory but for the life of me I can not recall this first guy's name to even have to use a made up one to protect the innocent!!  We will just call him Adam.  Very nice looking and originally from Wichita, KS.  One odd tidbit was he took diet pills not available anywhere retail and he tanned daily, yet he had not had sex or a girlfriend in 3 years!!!  Very attracted yet short.  He was the first one I chatted with and met for dinner at Farmhouse.

Sure enough just a few short weeks later Mike filed for divorce...much to my chagrin because of the kids.  However having recommended Yahoo Personals to new friend Lori fresh on my mind, I decided to sign up.  Boy oh boy was I in for a whirlwind of contacts, flirts, winks and emails.  Buckle up this is when is starts to get juicy.

Her name was also Lori and we met playing Literati on Yahoo games, I believe.  It is their version of Scrabble.  She befriended me immediately and right away I knew she was nuts but entertaining.  She was miserably married and on the prowl for men.  Both a mom and a grandmother.  I had noticed a banner ad and suggested Yahoo Personals for her versus trolling Poker rooms on Yahoo games to meet men.  This being after she defrock a minister from Texas no less!!!

I will skip ahead.....

Past the 8 years of love and marriage and kids and even past the 3 rocky years leading up to the ex filing for divorce.  Let's get to the juicy stuff about singles sites and online dating in Omaha!!!!

How about we start at the beginning????

I met my ex husband in November of 1995 and was immediately smitten. We were both working at Bergan Mercy Hospital....me as an employee and he as a worker for Miller Electric, who were contractors there. I saw him on and off for about 2 months and finally I asked my friend Joyce who worked in Engineering to get me his name. Oh boy did I so not know the type of last name to expect!!! Dutch, 12 letters and impossible NOT to mispronounce. However his name was Mike and that is fairly easy to remember!!
Fast forward about a week and I was walking to the cafeteria to have lunch and there he was walking in the same hallway carrying a vacuum. Before I could panic or even think twice about it I said, "Hi Mike". He looked at me with surprise as if to say....."hmmm wow she knows my name and must dig me". Later that day he waited for me to be alone at my desk and asked if I'd like to go to dinner sometime. SCORE!!

My ex husband filed for divorce on March 16, 2006 and by March 20th I had ventured into Yahoo Personals territory. Little did I know what an insane ride it would be!!!!
